Of Fireworks and 1st Attempt at Slow Shutter Speed Photography

One fine day, the girls (Bi, Lay Queen & Vi-Zanne) were just too bored and could not bear going through the weekend doing nothing but watch the World Cup with the guys in the lounge, haha. Even if it was Spain vs Portugal. So they decided to come together to make Sushi! Basically Vi Zanne had the tools like the sushi mat, and Bi & Queen got the raw materials.

Sushi tasted really good. Was a good change from chinese home cook food and indomee(s). Couldn't afford salmon and all though. Hong Mun had a fair share in it too. Anyway, the day after we went to watch fireworks! It was Wawa welcomes America Food Fair and Fireworks I think. Needless to say, Kim Loon & I were properly armed with our cameras!

9.30pm: Start of fireworks!!

Below are the better pictures I managed to capture. Kinda closed up because I had to use my 50mm Prime lens since it was just too dark for my kit lens to function.

All in all, it sure looked like an awesome but insanely expensive 15 minutes fireworks show!

Thought it would never end. Was snapping for he first 7 minutes and decided to put my camera away and enjoy the moment instead.

Reason why I had to time it properly was because I needed the sky to get dark enough to get a slower shuttle speed to maximize the water falling effect, but the campus turns the water off at 8.30pm. So I was basically snapping from 8.26pm till 8.30pm and took the best one. The shuttle speed could use another 7 seconds or so though.

Speaking of slow shuttle speed and water falls, tomorrow would be the mother of them all -- Niagara Falls :D will be touring around New York again for the 2nd time to cover all bases. Will update then!
